Address Change Request

This application is to request a street address change not included in an existing building permit application. This application changes or assigns address numbers and is not used to change the street name. If a building permit application has been submitted, an address will be assigned during the plan-check process. Allow 4-6 weeks for processing. A change of address will ONLY be granted for one of the following reasons:

• The existing entrance on a corner lot is on a different street

• You have documentation that demonstrates difficulty in receiving mail or emergency services

• Address is out of sequence or out of range

• Existing duplicate address or street name

Submission Checklist:

Application form, completed and signed

• Fee payment (Director discretion fee $180)

• Submit a site plan. Use 8.5"x11" sheet. Show property lines, building footprint, and entrance to the building.

• Other documentation may be required. For example, you may be required to prove you have legal access.

When an address is changed, written notification will be provided to the property owner. The GIS Division will also notify various City and County agencies and the post office to update their records. However, this does not substitute for the property owner contacting utility companies to switch their service account information.
