City awarded $1.45M CAL FIRE grant for hazardous fuel reduction

CAL FIRE Grant Award Notice

The City of Shasta Lake was awarded $1,454,418 through CAL FIRE's 2021-22 Wildfire Prevention Grant Program. This grant will fund the Hazardous Fuel Reduction Project which will consist of approximately 272 acres of hazardous fuel clearing in the northern and western parts of the City and its surrounding areas. The City is grateful for the support and funding from CAL FIRE which will assist the City's efforts to reduce risk of ignitions and spread of wildfire, as well as provide safer evacuation and emergency responder access to our community.
