What is the purpose of the City Council?
The City of Shasta Lake is a general law city with a Council-Manager form of government. The City Council acts as the legislative body, setting policy, approving budgets, and passing local laws which are incorporated into the Municipal Code.

The City of Shasta Lake is a general law city with a Council-Manager form of government. The City Council acts as the legislative body, setting policy, approving budgets, and passing local laws which are incorporated into the Municipal Code.

How are City Council positions filled?
The City Council consists of five members, elected at-large, for four year overlapping terms of office. Non-partisan City elections are held in November of even-numbered years.
